Durham University has announced that it will replace the online teaching portal, DUO, with a new Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) that returning students will begin to use in the next academic year.
With VLE, students will be able to find all their module handbook information in “a new, and we hope more user-friendly e-handbook format.”
Furthermore, module handbooks and policy documents will be centralised, and module reading lists on the portal will link students directly to the University Library online database to allow “easier access.”
The VLE portal will also allow students to access academic style guides and inducted-related materials to assist students in their studies.
The University says that more details about VLE will be communicated nearer the start of the next academic year.
