You’re an Eclipse

It’s been a long time 

and now I know

You’re an eclipse.

.

We were inseparable, 

it seemed we worked in rotation

.

I thought you were the moon to my sun,  

a reflection of me that shined bright in the dark

.

It’s been a long time and now I see that you weren’t reflecting me but hiding me and my light

.

I’m happy you came and went because I shine brighter now

.

Luckily, solar eclipses are rare and my moon is still out there

.
