Durham University and City Hockey Club run Durham Hockey Juniors Club

Durham University and Durham City Hockey Club are once again teaming up to run the Durham Hockey Juniors club.

The programme, which is run for young people aged from six to sixteen, was suspended from March due to Covid-19. New sessions will include a number of Covid-19 precautions and will take place in line with UK Government and England Hockey regulations.

Participants will have access to high-quality coaching from both University students and Durham City Club supporters and be able to play competitive fixtures against other local teams.

The sessions take place every Sunday at the University’s Sports and Wellbeing Park. Sessions are divided into two separate age groups, for ages six to nine, and ten to 16. The programme begins from Sunday 13th September.

The current programme began in 2018 and last year the club attracted 88 junior members.

Sessions cost £4.50 per week, £50 per term, or £120 per year.
