A new Cosy Club restaurant has opened in Durham in The Riverwalk.

Cosy Club currently has 25 locations across the United Kingdom and Durham will be its 26th. Cosy Club was first established in Taunton in 2012 and is affiliated with the popular chain restaurant “The Lounge”.

For the first month in Durham Cosy Club will be donating funds from the sale of each coffee and burger to a local charity organisation, Independent Age. Cosy Club will also provide 40 jobs to local people in Durham.

Amber Wood, Managing Director for The Cosy Club, added: “We are thrilled to open Cosy Club in Durham and can’t wait to welcome the local community through our doors. We’re absolutely thrilled to be part of such a fantastic development on The Riverwalk’s unique promenade.”

In a bid to fight loneliness Cosy club will also offer a free pot of tea every Wednesday between 10 and 11 am as part of Cosy Club’s “Free Teas for those in need”.

Cosy Club offers a range of menu options including gluten free and vegan menus.
