The marquee that has housed the Lateral Flow Test site on Palace Green is no longer available for use to make way for Lumiere and the Christmas markets. The number of sites that allow walk-in tests has been reduced.
In an update on their social media pages, Durham University announced that “from today, testing for staff and students will be available at five sites”, with the “Cafe on the Green” being listed in place of the marquee. The new test site will only take pre-booked appointments, and is open from 9.30am to 4.30pm seven days a week.
Additionally, the University announced that starting from today, the only site that allows students to take tests without booking is the one on the Racecourse. Same-day bookings can still be made up to midday.
Last Lumiere, Palace Green was used for viewing the light display on the front of Durham Cathedral. A similar display will be up this year.
