Oxfam to become pop-up boutique for two October evenings

By

Durham’s Oxfam bookshop (located at 18 Elvet Bridge) will transform into a boutique on the 11th and 26th October to sell the best of their donations: mainly comprising evening dresses and accessories.

Those who are interested will need to sign up in advance for the evening event, which will sell vintage, pre-loved and designer items, as well as deadstock from high street clothing brands.

The Oxfam store in Durham is primarily a bookshop, but it also already sells some clothes. However, on the 11th and 26th the charity shop will be showcasing the best of their donations by turning the whole store into a clothing shop from 5-8pm.

On average, for every £1 Oxfam spends, 79p goes towards their emergency, developing and campaigning work, with 11p spent on running costs and 10p placed towards generating future income. The globally renowned charity also aims to raise £5 for every £1 spent on fundraising.

Places are limited, so drop into the shop on Elvet to register your interest or email the store at oxfamshopf0406@oxfam.org.uk.
