Tranquility by the Sea
I am as calm as the sunset,
As warm as the summer seas,
As chilled as the wind,
And as gentle as the swaying trees.
There’s a certain breeze to my speech,
A rolling wave to my walk,
I live in an easy fluidity,
A cool, cloudy blue where nobody can find me.
I am as free as the grains of sand,
Travel as they may,
The ocean is my benefactor
And I’ll drift on always
to the slow tidal rhythm of the steady drum
that guides my unanchored heart
Through the horizon of this life, and beyond.
There is no end, only a fresh expanse that stretches – a new start
