Palatinate Poetry: White

Spools of satin;
Frosted lace;
Tattered white.

A spectral sight:

Ribbons tied tight –
Her corset constricts.
She cannot breathe.

Lilies strewn in her hair,
With a petal nestled
In her crooked neck, wilted;

A torn veil flutters:
There’s no innocence left
To protect.

She hangs –
The tree a puppet master
With a pretty broken toy.
