At Durham’s first ever Pride march on Sunday, the county’s LGBTQ+ population and allies hit the city streets for the well-attended historic occasion.
The march started on Palace Green, before moving down Owengate and onto Sadler’s street.
Many Durham colleges showed their support with hand-painted signs.
The march continued through Sadler’s street and into the Market Square.
By the time the march reached the Gala the rain had ceased and the sun had come out.
At the march’s termination outside the Gala (dubbed ‘Rainbow Square’) many stalls were set up providing information and support on a range of areas including adoption and sexual health.
Durham’s drag acts were out in full force.
