The Wind
By Ouida Jade Turner
There is no way to the right
There are several to the wrong
I’m waiting in the dark and cold
To see you listen to my song
But I already know
You’ll see me but you won’t be there
My strong voice is reduced to a whisper
And you’ll but faintly hear me blow
Suddenly you turn your head
As if I’d been wrong about you
For a moment you dive your eyes down mine
And I cannot but love you too
But then another voice rings out
And you turn away from me
My heart bleeds out and then dissolves
Into an invisible sea
And the only thing that remains for me
Is once more to play the role of the wind
While you are blind and I can’t see
You can be touched but never be
Moved
By the wind
