There had been public outcry at the recent news the British Inquiry into the 2003 Iraq invasion, which began in 2009, and took evidence from its last witness in 2011, will not be published before the general elections. Tony Blair, incumbent Prime Minister at the time of the invasion, has said that he is not to blame for the delay in publication, which allies suggest lies with the civil services and sensitivities regarding US-UK intelligence agency relations.
