Durham University’s Men’s Lacrosse team followed up their gold-medal winning exploits at the recent British Universities and Colleges (BUCS) Championships with a superb 11-8 victory over England U19s.

The Palatinates battled back from 4-2 down to record a stunning win over the country’s strongest young prospects, adding further gloss to a memorable season.

A comprehensive 17-0 triumph over Manchester secured a third consecutive BUCS Championship for the club in March, while they also notched up eight consecutive wins to clinch the Northern Premier League title.

This was not the club’s first success against international opposition this year, as they travelled to Amsterdam in February and beat the Netherlands’ Senior Side.

Lacrosse is an elite sport at Durham and the club – including the women’s and men’s first, second and third teams – has contributed nearly 300 BUCS points to the university’s total this year.
